How to Crochet a Little Pink Flower!
I just found a cool site called Midnight Knitter that has loads of crochet patterns! Of course, I found it by searching for the term “crocheted little pink flower!” I love how big this one is–check out the scale! Easy as pie to make, too.

She has lots of beautiful photos on her site, which is great, because I will never make something that I can’t see!
I love making these flowers, because you can glue them to hair clips, tie them on baskets, tack them on hats, the ends of scarves…the possibilities are truly endless.

No commentsPale Pink Nail Polish Is Classy and Classic!
As far as I’m concerned, there’s only one color of nail polish that looks really classic besides red, and that’s pale pink. I love it because your nails don’t look overdone like they do with so many other colors. It also looks great with any skin tone.
Of course, black and dark burgundies are in style this fall (as always), but with the white jeans that are so current, can you imagine wearing anything else but pale pink? Of course I’ll have to resist having the manicurist paint flowers on my toes, because as my mom would say, “That’s a bit overdone.” I’ll save it for summer.

No commentsThe Perfect Little Pink Flower

How’s this for an absolutely perfect little pink flower? It is a Oxalis Weed, which makes me wonder how on earth we designate some plants as weeds and others as ornamental, etc. Hmm.
From Wikipedia:
A weed in a general sense is a plant that is considered by the user of the term to be a nuisance, and normally applied to unwanted plants in human-made settings such as gardens, lawns or agricultural areas, but also in parks, woods and other natural areas. More specifically, the term is often used to describe native or nonnative plants that grow and reproduce aggressively.
Okay, I get the part about the user of the term, but why? This is a flower that would certainly never be unwanted by me. Well, unless it was poisonous and my dog liked to eat it. I suppose their could be reasons.

No commentsOooh! A Little Pink Flower Hat!

I’ve been on a real tear lately looking for knitting and crochet patterns that aren’t too difficult. I really love all the pinks, reds and browns in this set, and the directions are really clear. You can find them over at Sub-Zero Knitting. I especially love the little pink flower that is on the hat! More on how to crochet flowers later.
The great thing about knitting scarves and hats is that it is pretty much a no-brainer–meaning you can carry on a decent conversation and sometimes even watch television. Weird thinking about scarves and hats when it is still 95 degrees in Texas, though.

No commentsPink Flowers For Your Walls
It doesn’t matter if you’re five or fifty. I found some pink flowers that you can put on the walls! Check this out:
I found it over at Felt Fantasia, along with this one:
There are also some cute dragonflies that those of us who like things like pink flowers might like…
I think that the first one could be made by a crafty individual. That way, you could make it whatever size you wanted. The trick where I live is finding enough colors of quality felt to work with.

No commentsBrown and Pink Flower Scarf
I am enchanted by how the end of this scarf has the scattering of little pink flowers. I don’t like how skinny it is though. My thought is to knit a wider scarf, and then knit the ends as shown, perhaps adding more strands, and of course, more pink flowers! If you like it as shown, you can find the pattern (for free) over at Knitty.
I also like the idea of leaving it as is, only putting pink flowers all over it, thus creating a big chunky knitted necklace of flowers!
